Our founder

Dr. Jesse Miranda (1937–2019) was a pioneering leader in Hispanic evangelicalism, often called the "Granddaddy of U.S. Latino Protestantism." He dedicated his life to leadership development, theological education, and advocacy for Latino communities. As founder of the Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership, his legacy continues to empower future leaders in the church and beyond.

Our Initiatives

The Jesse Miranda Center for Hispanic Leadership/JMC empowers Latina/o leaders as change agents (Hope Sowers) in their communities through the integration of Faith, Work and Economic Wisdom. Education and strategic partnerships become primary.

Founded by Dr. Jesse Miranda, the Center focuses on community building and opportunity creation in the urban settings. Honoring Dr. Miranda's legacy and belief in the viability and under-recognized potential of Latina/o’s impact and contribution inspiring existing and future leaders to contribute meaningfully to the Hispanic community and beyond.
